Getting Clean

So as many of you have been reading on my Twitter and Facebook that I have decided to leave the partying life for awhile and get clean. Well my decision to do this comes from, that I don't want to be one of those people who can't ever touch a drink again. I still want to have fun, and so that's why I have recognized the path I was headed down and stopped it before it was too late. For the last 3 years I would drink occasionally and do coke or ecstasy on special occasions. It wasn't until 7 months ago that it started to become a regular thing for me. It was about the time my ex left me for a girl. Not trying to make excuses for it, but that was the time I started doing it more. I was drinking 5 days a week and doing coke 3 to 4 times a week. Now I know there are people out there with worse addictions, but for me that was allot. I think deep down inside I was trying to numb the pain from my break up, giving myself a false hope that I was alright. I have been lucky enough to realize this and get a grip on it before it got to a dangerous point. Many people are not that lucky, and that's why I am writing this and sharing my life with you all. I would hope that at least one person who reads this that's struggling with addiction could get something from it. I'm gonna focus on perfecting my body since it's my money maker, and capitalizing the best I can in this industry. If one day I do chose to drink again then I hope I'm at a point where I can take it or leave it, and not rely on it to make me happy. Drugs on the other hand is a whole different story. There is nothing wrong with doing them on rare occasion, but once you get to that point where you can't say "no" every now and then, then it becomes a problem. I hope I can learn to say "no" one day. Until then I will stay away completely. I just wanna say thank you for the out pour of support from everybody in the industry, on Twitter, on Facebook, friends and family etc. It means the world. Love, Kirk Cummings
